The "local potatoes" my cousin-in-law grew indoors were taken to the city and sold for 30 yuan each, and they were snapped up in no time!

My cousin-in-law's family are true rural folk, and since she is staying home to look after her child this year, she did not go out to work. Apart from looking after the child, she always felt empty and unsettled during the rest of the day. For someone as hardworking as her, this is perfectly normal.

So, while watching TV, she happened to see how other people make a living and support their families. All of a sudden, she thought of something unique to our area. That was growing black gastrodia and green gastrodia to sell in the city for city people to use as bonsai.

Especially in our area, gastrodia is a pillar industry. We all know that gastrodia is also called local potato; it is an orchid-family, saprophytic herbaceous plant. It has a tuberous form, oval to nearly dumbbell-shaped, fleshy, with an upright stem, orange-yellow, yellow, grayish-brown or blue-green, and no green leaves. Gastrodia has no roots and no leaves and cannot carry out photosynthesis; it relies on Armillaria fungi to supply nutrients for growth and reproduction.

So, doing this sort of thing was no problem at all for my cousin-in-law, who knows the technique. So in her spare time, she went up the mountain to dig gastrodia from her own gastrodia field and brought it back to plant in pots indoors. While looking after the child, she also took care of her potted gastrodia. After her careful management, more than a month passed in the blink of an eye, and looking at her potted plants again, a happy smile appeared on her face.

So she chose a day and took her potted gastrodia to the county town to sell. And sure enough, this thing really is popular with city people; whether old or young, men or women, they were all crowding around to buy it. Some took it to make bonsai, some took it to eat, some took it to make medicine, and so on, and in no time at all, the gastrodia she had brought, at 30 yuan each, was completely sold out.

So. Here, what I want to say is that as long as a person is diligent and has ideas, opportunities always await those who are prepared. At the same time, regarding gastrodia, whether in shape, taste, medicinal effects, and so on, what thoughts do you have? Please share and discuss.
