A shade-tolerant, easy-to-grow vegetable that grows fast in any corner you toss it into, even lazy gardeners can grow it into a bursting pot

When growing vegetables in containers on the balcony, you want to grow every kind of vegetable, but some vegetables particularly love sunlight, and if your home has poor light, the vegetables end up growing in a way that is a bit hard to describe.
However, this vegetable is different: it is very shade-tolerant, grows well in any corner of the home you toss it into, and needs only rough, minimal care, making it a lazy gardener's favorite.
This vegetable is called arugula, also known as rocket, and because it has a strong sesame aroma it is named sesame vegetable (arugula); in Western cuisine it is mostly used in making pizza and sandwiches, and it can be called a salad vegetable that can be planted in all four seasons.
The tender stems and leaves of arugula contain various nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and protein, and it also has diuretic and stomach-strengthening effects, and arugula is also especially effective against coughs. In medicinal cuisine, arugula is an excellent vegetable for preventing and treating illness; eaten regularly it has a relatively strong anti-cancer effect and can promote cell activity.
Arugula is not strict about environmental requirements and has strong tolerance to shade, drought and poor soil; a cool environment is better for arugula's growth. It could once be called a wild vegetable, growing directly beside roads or in the wilderness, and as a potted plant it is also very easy to grow into a bursting pot.
Container growing key points:
1. Before container-growing arugula, you can apply enough organic fertilizer into the soil as a base fertilizer, which can make it grow more plump and sturdy.
2. Arugula grows very quickly, so you can directly choose the sowing method; before sowing there is no need to soak the seeds, just scatter the seeds evenly into the soil, cover with a thin layer of soil, and water thoroughly.
3. About 4 days after sowing, the seedlings will come up; when the plants grow to about 18 cm, you can pick them to eat, otherwise picking too late affects the taste.
Grow arugula at home and you can pick fresh leaves anytime to make salad; and did you know, its seeds can be made into a very strong-flavored mustard, so if you like it, just plant it!
