Painting with dried twigs and flowers, they treat nature as the best paintbrush

Vicki is a designer and photographer
Her daughter Brooke studies advertising and fashion design at university
No tape at all
And no glue either
This is simply Mother Nature's own beauty
For Vicki
The most authentic side of creating raw objects
Is: healing
Spending lots of time walking outside and searching
In a single moment
Your eyes may sweep over every inch of the ground around you
A fallen leaf drops into a schoolbag
Then it might become an eyebrow
Or a little dog's ear
Picking up dried twigs from the ground
Hoping they can become
A beautiful cheekbone or chin
The possibilities in nature seem infinite
As soon as you return to the studio
These dried twigs will be used for a portrait's cheeks
Carefully selecting among fresh rose petals
You will pick out the most perfect pair of lips
When making these portraits
Whatever you do, don't sneeze
Gently with tweezers
The white petals of German forget-me-nots
As eyeshadow for a certain portrait
Sometimes
Knowing what you make
Is merely a fleeting bloom
Your heart also feels very free
After completing a piece
Recording them with photographs
The final step is to destroy these works
Letting these things return to nature
Once again setting out to search for the natural materials
Needed for the next piece
"What you see in these portraits
Is all the most direct feeling nature gives us
This is my way of showing respect to Mother Nature
Carrying through the concept of sustainability"
After seeing these works by Vicki that come from nature
Aren't you also deeply tempted
And want to make something too?
Actually it's very simple
You just need to look around
Whether there are any fallen leaves with beautiful shapes
Or simply prune your own garden
Look to see if there are any twigs with a perfect curve
Find a smooth flat surface
Start creating your own nature
Whether you admit it or not
Art always comes from life
And life exists because of nature
