Raspberries are highly nutritious; grow a few in pots at home and you can enjoy delicious berries

Raspberries - the first time I learned about this fruit I was still in middle school, and I came to know it back then from studying Mr. Lu Xun's "From the Hundred-Plant Garden to the Three-Flavor Study". The raspberry is a berry, and it looks very beautiful. Here the small farmer will share with everyone how to grow raspberries as potted plants.
1. The growing habits of raspberries
Raspberries are not as commonly seen on the market as blueberries and other fruits; large-scale cultivation of raspberries is still relatively rare, and most raspberries grow in the Northeast region. The raspberry is not only a fruit but also a Chinese herbal medicine, with the effect of tonifying the kidney and strengthening yang.
Raspberries like a warm and humid growing environment, and they like a growing environment with diffused light. They like fertile, well-drained sandy soil.
2. Planting raspberries
Planting can be done in spring or autumn; you can directly buy raspberry seedlings online, which is a bit easier. Be sure to choose a relatively trustworthy seller and buy robust raspberry seedlings.
Soil: Raspberries like a warm and humid growing environment, so for the soil you can choose peat soil with good water retention, add some humus soil with relatively high organic matter content, and then mix in some sandy soil. It is best to choose a somewhat larger flower pot, with a depth of about 50 cm, as this is more conducive to the growth of raspberries.
3. Caring for raspberries
Water and fertilizer: Raspberries are relatively drought-tolerant, so watering should not be too frequent; just keep the soil moist, and water again when drought appears in the pot, while also noting that waterlogging must not occur in the pot at ordinary times. Before potting the raspberries, add base fertilizer to the bottom of the flower pot. After the raspberries enter the growing period, you can apply decomposed and diluted cake fertilizer about once a month.
Building a trellis: The branches of raspberries tend to lodge easily, so it is best to make a support for them, so that the branches of the raspberries can be supported and will not lodge and affect fruit set.
