A clivia bloomed four flowers in a row, and the wife cracked 2 jin of sunflower seeds to use as soil dressing

Many people grow clivias at home. The clivia enjoys many fine reputations and is very beautiful in itself, so people love it dearly. But clivias are still quite hard to grow, and getting them to bloom is the wish of every grower, because clivias have an age requirement for flowering: they need to be grown for 2-5 years before they have a chance to bloom. Most clivias people grow, however, are ordinary varieties, so the wait for flowers is certainly long.
That is not all. Root rot in clivias, and the yellowing leaves caused by root rot, are both very common. So to grow her clivia, my wife, in such hot weather, bought 2 jin of sunflower seeds and sat there cracking them open. She said the seed shells could be used to grow clivias, and the seed kernels could too, so she sat there cracking seeds without eating any of them, keeping the shells and the kernels in separate piles.
After cracking all 2 jin of sunflower seeds in one go, my wife's lips were peeling. Here is how she used the sunflower seeds to grow the clivia:
1. First, put the 2 jin of cracked sunflower seed kernels in a pan and dry-roast them until cooked. Note that the pan must be cleaned thoroughly and contain no seasoning of any kind.
2. Once the seed kernels are roasted, which takes just a few minutes, pour them out and crush them with something hard. The finer the crush, the better, as the nutrients are released more easily.
3. Finally, make a hole at the edge of the clivia's pot, pour the crushed seed kernels into the hole and cover them with soil. They must be kept well away from the clivia's roots, otherwise it easily causes root burn and root rot.
4. The leftover seed shells are useful too. Loosen the soil in the clivia's pot, take out the clivia and the potting soil, and pour all the seed shells into the bottom of the pot, spreading them evenly. This makes the role of the shells clear: they can serve as a drainage medium. However, sunflower seed shells are hard to decompose, so buried at the bottom of the pot they slowly release nutrients for the clivia to absorb.
And just like that, my clivia produced four flowers, very beautiful and spectacular. The principle behind growing clivias with sunflower seeds is the same as with other nuts, which can all be used to grow clivias. Peanut kernels and peanut shells can both be used to grow clivias, with very good results too. Everyone should give it a try!
