A flowering machine that loves to burst out of its pot in summer, worth growing one pot in every home

At the tail end of May, the weather in Nanning is already in the thirties every day, and many flower lovers keep grumbling: this weather is too hot, how am I supposed to care for my flowers? Indeed, because of the weather many flowers have finished blooming, and for many flower lovers who are unhappy without flowers, summer feels like no fun at all, and no flower is easy to grow. In fact, many flowers bloom just as vigorously in summer, and the ones below are exactly that.
1. Four Seasons Orchid: Four Seasons Orchid, also called Jianlan (Cymbidium ensifolium), usually blooms in late spring and continues until October in autumn, with a flowering period lasting as long as half a year. Four Seasons Orchid likes a semi-shady environment, so in summer it can be placed in a spot with scattered light on the balcony, or in a brighter spot in the living room or bedroom. When in bloom, the flowers are delicate and elegant, with soft colours and forms, and a subtle fragrance spreading all around, carrying the air of a modest gentleman and rewarding repeated appreciation; when not in bloom, the leaves are graceful and stay evergreen through all four seasons, earning it the reputation that "looking at the leaves beats looking at the flowers."
Care tip: Summer is the vigorous growth period for orchids, and Four Seasons Orchid likes moisture and fertiliser. To help the orchid grow better, you can keep a plant monitor at home to track the plant's water and fertiliser needs in real time 24 hours a day, preventing root rot and yellow leaves.
2. Bird's Tongue Gardenia: Bird's Tongue Gardenia is a variety of gardenia, with relatively small leaves and flowers, and when it blooms it gives off waves of fresh fragrance and a mass of pure white. The flowering period of Bird's Tongue Gardenia is generally from April to June, and in areas north of the Yellow River it can keep blooming until August.
Care tip: Gardenia is famously an acid-loving flower, and Bird's Tongue Gardenia is no exception, so to keep it blooming continuously you must keep up with fertiliser in the earlier stages. Normally you can use an acid-loving organic liquid fertiliser, which plants absorb easily, ensuring acidic soil that is good for rooting. When summer temperatures get too high, just move the potted plant indoors to a bright, well-ventilated spot.
3. Frangipani: Frangipani has a very long flowering period indeed, from April to December in the south and from April to September in the north. When in bloom it is fresh and elegant, with bright, lovely colours, and the flowers come in yellow, bright red and dark red, with a very rich range of varieties.
Care tip: Frangipani likes loose acidic soil best, and it is best to choose coconut coir or leaf mould for planting. This flower loves light very much, and needs more than 4 hours of light every day; in summer it is not afraid of high temperatures at all, and during the flowering period it is enough to water once a day.
If you grow the flowers above at home, you can enjoy beautiful blooms in summer without even going out.
