The article starts with a video...
Time moves neither fast nor slow,
The years do not betray deep affection.
May time not betray effort,
In leisure time! Admire the succulents, take photos, and feel completely content!
Besides crowded people and cars, life also has many interesting things happening. Life is plain and monotonous, but as long as you put your heart into it, you can sketch out life's warmest side with your hands. Seeking neither fame nor profit, only happiness, striving to create an atmosphere of self-enjoyment for yourself and your friends. Coming to the balcony every morning, basking in the sun and spacing out, is itself a happy thing.
Two years have passed, and it has been exactly another year since I last submitted to Encyclopedia Jun. I have gotten used to recording life with just a few words every day, and used to leaving memories of life's trivialities in writing. There are no great ups and downs of mood, nor any brilliant writing to speak of. But... suddenly I really wanted a sense of ceremony to record today's specialness... So I organized the random thoughts I usually post on Moments every day and the records related to succulents, and submitted them to Encyclopedia Jun. Hahaha! Do you want to ask: Is this okay too??? I don't know either! Anyway, I just took action first, and I'll think about the rest slowly later!
First, a few group photos to catch your eyes, because I have found that when they live together they grow vigorously, reflecting each other's brilliance, thriving. Note: my hand at the lower right corner of the foam box can be used for comparison. Previously, a succulent friend said: one hundred people have one hundred ways of growing succulents. For me, mindset is the most important, and persistence is key... The previous article shared my mindset and methods for growing succulents. If you want to know more, please see "Growing Succulents Is Also Cultivating the Heart - Marking One Year of Falling into the Pit" that I published with Encyclopedia Jun on May 20, 2017. I hope it helps you.
Ruby, comparison photos from last year and this year, time to repot!
Bluebird, the mother plant with the date has already passed away, and seventy percent of the leaf-cutting seedlings survived. It feels like descendants flourishing.
Kalanchoe thyrsiflora, successfully made it through summer, loves sun and water, so you can rest assured and grow it fully outdoors.
White Phoenix, when ugly it is ugly enough to make you cry, when beautiful it is stunningly beautiful!
White Phoenix, after beheading it split into two and looks very photogenic, do you agree?
Black, different every day, good mood every day!
Fruit Blue no longer holds fruit and has switched careers to hold succulents, hehehe!
Hime-Getsugetsu, comparison photos taken 2 months apart.
Sasa Queen
Daruma Fukuten, cut branches at a certain succulent greenhouse, 58 yuan for a bundle with free shipping. When I ordered, I didn't know how many there were? When the goods arrived it was a pleasant surprise, a really big pile, indeed a lot. I planted three large pots by cuttings and they all survived one hundred percent, which is the video at the beginning of the article. The same goes for Xiaomixing. At the time I took a fancy to it at first glance, dotted like stars, red and green, and in one go I bought 100 of them. I won't show the pictures one by one.
The most fulfilling are the two varieties below:
Butterfly Dance, grown from a single leaf. Usually it looks plain, but in winter it blooms with a different posture. At that moment I forgot all the pain, and gave my soul a meter of sunlight, warm and settled. If the heart faces the sun, there is no fear of sorrow...
Purple Moon, started from a 10 cm seedling.
Halloween, because seeing Su Jun's Aeonium was too appealing, I also fell in love with Aeonium this year. I bought several varieties, looking forward to it slowly growing up healthily.
Yinüxin, time to change to a larger pot. The second picture below is last year's mother plant. It was succulent friends who helped correct the name; I had mistakenly thought it was Hongzhiyu.
Xiuyan, the same variety given to me, and I actually grew three different postures, large, medium, and small. So fulfilling!
After a long drought comes sweet rain, vigorous growth at this time, the joy of full outdoor growing...
Jinzhi Yuye, no water control, no shape control, I just like how it shows the vitality and vigor of life at every moment, sometimes wild, sometimes posing, growing vigorously.
From a single head to a full pot or many pots, what I want to say is satisfaction. Watching the succulents you like keep growing stronger is a really, really great feeling and a really, really good experience.
I don't like keeping flower stalks, I cut them as soon as I see them!
Not to say very beautiful, yet pot after pot flourishes.
Playing with beheaded seedlings, leaf cuttings, and transplanted cuttings for propagation is all addictive. Once you fall in love, there is no cure.
Only by letting go can you gain! Just like the attitude toward life. Life is already very hard, so there is no need to crave others' understanding and approval in everything. Quietly live your own life. If the heart does not move, what can the wind do? If you are not hurt, the years are fine.
Purple Joy
Just repotted, not yet established.

This was at the end of last year, when I was clearing out clutter. My child said the basketball's surface was badly worn and felt bad to hold, and wanted to replace it with a new one. Actually, I didn't understand either, I just felt it was a pity to throw it away, so I found a saw and cut it in half, and planted a pot of succulents in it. The visual effect was quite good too... One pot is Firecracker, and the other is Pink Beauty.
Firecracker
Pink Beauty
Still the same as always, treated with lots of water and large pots, grown outdoors in full sun, without deliberately recording variety names or controlling shape. The photos are all casually taken with a phone, casual and spontaneous, treated with an ordinary mind, a mood of self-contentment and self-enjoyment. For me, not killing them is the best, and being alive is the greatest hope.
In the quiet art studio, only the rustling sound of pencils on paper can be heard. Such an atmosphere should be extremely beautiful...
Accompanying my son to art class, after he painted 2 oil paintings, he switched to learning sketching. Holding onto a mindset of not wasting anything, I took over, and it seems I also learned to paint quite well...
The first painting, painting... showing off... doesn't it look quite artistic?
The first oil painting completed.
From growing succulents to learning to paint... it came naturally, and once I started, I found it was not as difficult as I had imagined. Because there is no homework to hand in, there is also no pressure. When I want to grow succulents, I go fiddle with them; when I want to paint, I go add a few strokes... Time just flows away unnoticed like this.
Stepping away to learn something completely new... Many people ask me how long I have been learning? I answer you, actually I started getting into oil painting from this date, and also started learning at the same time. So, if you don't like it, please don't criticize, just skip over it.
For now I can't think of anything that can be achieved in one step, simplifying from complexity. I believe it will slowly get better...
Quite good, keep it up!
They say: I paint quite well, guess? ......... They are all painted by me. When I paint a work I like, I will want to copy another one, but I find that every painting is unique.
There is no inspiration or technique to speak of, I just want to apply all kinds of colored paints and put them together...
When painting this one, I thought countless times about giving up the brush.
But... suddenly one day, after dropping my son off at school, I took a detour past the art studio, wanting to finish the painting I hadn't completed before. I very patiently asked the art studio teacher how I should continue painting... I truly had no clue at all. The teacher told me to think for myself and experience it myself, to feel it with my heart, and then I comforted myself and said to the teacher: For a beginner, actually painting it like this is quite good, right? The teacher [said].
I always feel that the most beautiful thing in life is being with the things you like... I hope you can keep going, it doesn't need to be very good, just keep going!
I chose a photo with my husband to end with.
For a woman content with the status quo, happiness is nothing more than having her own hobbies, like-minded friends with similar tastes. Bliss is nothing more than having a lover who understands and cherishes her, and supports each other through thick and thin. This friendship may not be glamorous, and this love may not be romantic, but it is enduring and lasting, as warm and comforting as an old cotton jacket. Life has succulents, this life has you, growing old together, quiet years, spring warmth and blooming flowers!
