In this season, fruits are gradually ripening one after another. After we finish eating, we just throw away the leftover pits, but in fact, the pits of many fruits can be grown into potted plants, and they are super beautiful. Below I will share a few that I have experimented with myself, several kinds of pits that can grow into lush, verdant plants.

1. Dragon fruit seeds

Dragon fruit is a fruit that many people really like. When we eat dragon fruit, we separate out the small black seeds and put them in a cool place to dry. Prepare a pot with some coarse sand at the bottom to provide drainage, then add potting soil. The potting soil should be watered until moist, press it down slightly, sprinkle the seeds evenly over the surface of the soil, spray water until the seeds are moist, seal the top, and place it in a spot with indirect light to wait for them to sprout.

2. Longan seeds

After eating longan, soak the seeds in water for about a week, changing the water every day. Once sprouting points appear, put them into a flower pot, then spray some water on the sprouting points every day. After some time, the longan will slowly grow roots and develop into a potted plant, lush and very beautiful.

3. Mango seeds

After we finish eating a mango, cut open the mango seed with a knife or another sharp object, take out the embryo inside the hard shell, then find a pot and place the embryo head-down in the soil in the pot. Sprinkle a thin layer of soil over the embryo, place the pot with the buried embryo in a spot that gets sunlight, and be careful to keep the environment around the pot moist. This allows the mango seed to sprout better, and after some time it will grow into a beautiful potted plant.

4. Watermelon seeds

Collect the watermelon seeds left after eating watermelon, then find a container and add the soil that watermelon needs to grow. It is best if the bottom of the pot has holes, then plant the watermelon seeds in the soil in the pot and keep it in a sunny spot for care. When the plants grow out, because watermelon is a climbing vine plant, you can place it in a high spot or hang it up.
