Roses are among the most beautiful and fragrant flowers that gardeners have ever grown. Many people like to grow potted roses on balconies and in courtyards, loving the way they do not vie with spring, do not steal the show from summer, and do not compete in brilliance with autumn chrysanthemums, along with their wide range of flower colors and their slightly tart floral scent! So how can you make their blooming period longer and their flowers more abundant and vivid?

When growing roses, the first choice is the variety. When buying roses, pay attention to whether they are bare-root. If you buy bare-root roses and plant them, rooting takes up a lot of nutrients, so the flowers cannot be kept and must be cut off before potting them up.

Beginners caring for roses feel as if they are a "medicine bottle": you watch the plant constantly develop leaf spots or bring on various mealybugs and aphids or whiteflies. Especially with potted roses, the plant's ventilation must be done well, the leaves at the bottom should be cut off as much as possible, and overly dense branches and leaves on the plant should all be cut off to avoid water sitting on the leaf surface.

Roses like fertilizer, and fertilizing should use dilute fertilizer water. Remember not to overdo it, otherwise it will cause fertilizer burn and the leaves will turn yellow. You can just use a compound fertilizer directly; there is no need to buy things like nutrient solutions.

Water thoroughly each time. If the pot has a saucer, it needs to be emptied; do not let water accumulate. After the top layer of soil dries out or its color becomes lighter, it must be watered thoroughly again. Do not let it dry out too severely before watering thoroughly again, otherwise it will cause plant loss and large areas of yellowing and fallen leaves.

The rose care tips are just the ones above. Basically, anyone who can do these well can grow beautiful roses.
