First, let me show a picture of how the balcony looks now. The balcony is 3.9 square meters in total, facing southwest, with full sun and pretty good ventilation.

I started moving in January 2016, and every time I moved I just carried the pots over one by one

Then I watched as the pots multiplied one by one

Actually, at that time I had only been growing succulents for less than 1 year, and I had a few dozen pots in total, most of them common varieties. Since many people in the neighborhood were moving into new homes, I picked up a headboard and fixed it onto the balcony railing, and that became my very first "flower rack."

I do not know if you can see from the 3 pictures above the wooden board placed underneath. That is the "headboard" I painstakingly carried home.

Later, when my dad came home from a business trip, he found that I had already filled the balcony. A neat freak with obsessive-compulsive tendencies definitely could not stand it, so he decisively made me a real flower rack.

As it turned out, this flower rack really was not easy to use on my small balcony and could not satisfy my grand ambitions, so I quietly turned it in another direction and leaned it against the wall. Now I put soil and pots underneath and leaf-propagation babies on top, and I have used it this way until today.
