The rubber plant stays evergreen all year round, with upright stems and large, broad, thick leaves. It likes plenty of light but also tolerates shade. So how do you propagate a rubber plant? Below we introduce the method of propagating rubber plants from stem cuttings!

Rubber plant stem cutting method:

Rubber plant cuttings are always taken in spring and autumn.

(1). Cut a healthy, disease-free, semi-lignified 1-year-old branch, 10-15cm long. Cut off the tender young part at the top, keep the cutting 2-3 nodes long with 2-3 leaves at the top, cut half of each leaf off, soak the wound in a carbendazim solution, then let the wound dry before use.

(2). Put willow branches in a basin, add water and soak for one day, take out the willow branches, then soak the rubber plant cuttings in the water for a few hours; this promotes rooting and speeds up root formation.

(3). Prepare the cutting medium: vermiculite + perlite + sandy soil as the growing medium, and water it thoroughly.

(4). Then insert the cuttings into the prepared cutting bed, keep the light sparse and the temperature suitable, and they will root in about 1 week.
