Lavender is a fragrant small purple flower, also known as the "tranquil perfume plant," and has long enjoyed the reputation of "the beauty of aromatic herbs." Lavender originated in the Mediterranean region, such as Provence in France, and is widely cultivated in the United Kingdom and Yugoslavia. The flower language of lavender means "fragrance." When you arrive at a lavender field, you often find yourself unconsciously drawn in by its special scent, so lavender is also called the "queen of herbs."

The soil for planting lavender is a slightly alkaline sandy soil, but at the same time it must also have good drainage. We can mix peat moss into the soil, which is also very good for the growth of lavender, allowing both later drainage and moisture retention to be decent.

Lavender does not like water constantly lingering around its roots. After one thorough watering, you should wait until the soil is dry before watering again, aiming for the surface growing medium to be dry and the interior to be moist, with the leaves slightly wilting as the indicator. Watering should be done in the morning, avoiding sunlight, and the water should not splash on the leaves and flowers, otherwise they easily rot and breed pests and diseases.

Pruning lavender is generally done after flowering, which ensures that excess nutrients are not lost, so that the next year's flowering can accumulate strength and burst forth. When pruning, we should cut off about one third; the branches will be sturdier, and we always prune in spring.
