Schefflera fertilization has its tricks: lush branches, glossy green leaves, and rapid growth

Schefflera (umbrella tree) can absorb secondhand smoke and other exhaust gases. Place one pot indoors to purify the air and beautify the environment. Schefflera likes warmth and humidity, is relatively shade-tolerant, and is best kept in a spot with bright indirect light and good ventilation; the soil needs to be fertile and loose. Under conditions of high air humidity and ample moisture, the plant grows vigorously. So how do you fertilize Schefflera? Let's take a look!
Schefflera fertilization tips
(1). During the peak growth period of Schefflera in summer, fertilize about once every 1 week. For variegated-leaf Schefflera, apply less nitrogen fertilizer, otherwise the variegated patches will gradually fade and turn green.
(2). From April to September, apply a light fertilizer about once every 1 month, using granular fertilizer, to ensure the nutrients needed for growth.
(3). Fertilization mainly uses a mixed fertilizer of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium; depending on the variety, apply nitrogen fertilizer in combination. Schefflera needs sufficient nutrients, otherwise the leaves will drop.
(4). In winter, do not fertilize Schefflera indiscriminately, otherwise it will cause large-scale soil hardening.
(5). Repot regularly and apply sufficient base fertilizer to ensure an adequate supply of fertilizer in the potting soil, otherwise it easily leads to poor growth vigor of the whole plant.
