What to do about yellow leaves on anthurium? Understand these few points and you'll have no more yellow leaves and bright blooms

The glossy green leaves and brilliant red flowers of the anthurium make it a favorite of many people, but when caring for anthurium, some small problems can arise, such as yellow leaves. If yellowing leaves appear, treat it promptly and find the right cause, and you can easily restore the anthurium to vigor.
1. Yellow leaves caused by normal aging
When the leaves of an anthurium age normally, the lower leaves turn yellow. The yellow leaves at this stage do not have spots or the like, they simply turn yellow, and the yellowed leaves gradually become thinner. These are all normal yellow leaves, so there is no need to worry too much.
2. Yellowing leaves caused by overwatering
When watering an anthurium, be careful not to give too much water. Overwatering can also cause leaves to turn yellow, and the yellowed leaves at this point are brown, and the leaves may even rot and drop off. So place the anthurium in a ventilated spot for care, dry out the potting soil in time, and choose loose, breathable soil, so the plant can grow better.
3. Anthurium infected by bacteria
If you notice yellow-brown spots appearing on the leaves of your anthurium, and over time they tend to gradually expand if left untreated, and if you still do not deal with them, in severe cases the leaves will rot and die. This condition is caused by a bacterial infection of the anthurium. You can mix carbendazim with water and spray it on the leaves, once a week, and the symptoms will improve within just a few applications.
4. Overfertilizing the anthurium
If you notice that the tips of the old leaves or the edges of the leaves of your anthurium turn yellow, and the newly emerging leaves are rather thick, this condition means too much fertilizer has been applied. At this point you can use the soaking method to dilute the fertilizer in the pot, or you can directly repot the anthurium with fresh potting soil. In future fertilizing, adopt the method of light but frequent feeding, which is most beneficial to the growth of the anthurium.
