Learn these 3 tricks for caring for your clivia and grow it into top condition, and the 3rd trick is the most important

Clivia is a flower with exceptionally high ornamental value. Its leaves are thick and smooth, standing upright like swords, giving a feeling of strength and fortitude, of pressing forward; its blooms are full and rich in vivid color, carrying the meaning of wealth, good fortune, happiness and completeness, and it is deeply loved by flower enthusiasts.
Keeping a clivia alive is not very hard, but growing one into a clivia that others admire is not so easy. Although some clivia grown by flower enthusiasts have lush foliage and nonstop blooms, their overall ornamental effect is extremely poor. Today Hua'er will introduce 3 tricks for clivia care to make it grow impressively and bloom without stopping.
1. Watering
Water is the source of life, and the same goes for plants. The water we generally use is tap water, and it cannot be used directly to water clivia. Let it sit for more than half a day first, then use it. Each time you water, slowly pour it in from the edge of the pot toward the center, and never pour water into the core of the plant, as this can cause core rot and root rot.
It is best not to sprinkle water on the leaves, because water will collect along the leaves at the head and cause rot. Also, clivia leaves have a waxy layer, so you can wipe them with a damp cloth once a week to make the leaves more glossy.
2. Nutrients
Clivia has different nutrient needs at each stage. During the growing period and after blooming, give clivia more nitrogen fertilizer to make it grow quickly, applying fertilizer about once every ten days. When it enters the flowering period, reduce or stop using nitrogen fertilizer and apply some phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. You can use a flower fertilizer specially meant to promote blooming, or bury some bone meal in the potting soil, so it produces more vivid flowers and a longer flowering period.
3. Correction
A good-looking clivia mostly needs to be corrected, otherwise the leaves easily lean in all directions, and even the flower scape grows crooked, which affects its ornamental quality. You can correct it when new leaves have just grown or when the scape is not growing, using cloth strips, stiff paper pieces, and so on, going from loose to tight and correcting it step by step to the best state.
That is all for clivia care. If you have other additions, flower enthusiasts, you can share them with everyone in the comments section below. If you want to learn more about growing flowers, you can follow Huajianke!
