Master these watering techniques and never worry about waterlogging again

Watering is the most important step in growing flowers. In fact, there are several principles for watering plants, and once you master them, you won't have to worry about waterlogged flowers.
Herbaceous vs. woody
For herbaceous plants, you must water more, while woody plants should be watered less. This is because the roots of herbaceous plants are relatively shallower than those of woody plants, but their water demand is high, so they need more watering. Woody plants have strong absorption capacity, so relatively speaking they can be watered less.
Leaf size
For plants with larger leaves and softer texture, the larger surface area means water evaporates quickly, so they need more watering.
Plants with small, harder-textured leaves have a smaller surface area and evaporate water slowly, so they can be watered a bit less.
Wet-loving vs. drought-loving
Wet-loving flowers have a relatively high demand for water and should be watered more often, while drought-loving flowers, such as cacti, have low water demand and should be watered less.
Sandy soil vs. clay soil
Sandy soil has poor water retention, so it needs more watering. Clay soil has relatively strong water retention but poor aeration, so it should be watered less to avoid waterlogging.
Dry weather vs. cloudy weather
Weather also affects watering. In dry weather, water evaporates quickly and the moisture in the soil is lost fast, so pay attention to watering more and water frequently.
In cloudy weather, there is more moisture in the surrounding air and water evaporates slowly, so you can water a bit less.
Active growth period vs. dormant period
During the active growth period, plants have a relatively high demand for water, so they need more watering to ensure normal growth.
During the dormant period, plants have a relatively low demand for water, so water less and control the amount of watering.
