Lately, Huahua often sees walls covered in climbing roses on the way, pink ones, red ones. Every time I walk there, it feels like they have some kind of magic, making me stay as long as I can, so I thought, such beautiful flowers, why not grow a pot at home too, so I can admire the flowers every day!

Although climbing roses don't bloom as large as Chinese roses, it's precisely because their flowers are small that growing on walls or railings creates a unique charm, and they can also serve as a "backdrop" for photos. If you also want to have such a wall of flowers, then hurry up and follow Huahua to learn how to grow them!

Overall, climbing roses are quite easy to keep alive. If grown outdoors, we basically don't need to take care of them; let them endure wind and sun, and they will still grow very well. Because it is a plant with a very strong climbing ability, we'd best grow it at the base of a wall, or near a fence, so it can grow by taking advantage of the structure, and we can skip the step of building a trellis for it!

However, in this case, we shouldn't let it grow too freely either; it's best to prune it regularly, which can well control the plant's shape and also avoid wasting too many nutrients. Especially after flowering, be sure to remember to cut off those branches that have already bloomed, keeping about 3 bud points, and also cut off the old branches, so it will continue to bloom next year.

Or we can cut some branches and plant them in pots to grow indoors. First, we need to choose healthy young branches for cuttings; when cutting, mainly make diagonal cuts, so they will root more easily. You can disinfect them first, and after they dry, you can plant them in pots.

During this period, be careful to keep the soil slightly moist, and they will root in about a month. After rooting, we can move them to a larger pot. The most important requirement for the soil is to maintain breathability, because climbing roses like a moist growing environment, so watering will naturally increase, so we should avoid waterlogging caused by the soil. You can water after it dries out completely; in summer, watering once every 10 days is enough.

Sunlight, of course, is also indispensable; be sure to place it on a sunny balcony, so the flowering branches will be sturdier and more and more flower buds will grow.
