How to deal with the common problem of yellowing leaves in anthuriums

If you enjoy growing cut-flower anthuriums, sooner or later you will run into situations such as anthurium leaves turning yellow with scorched edges and drying up, or rotting leaves, and this really does add to the worries of fellow plant lovers. How can these problems be solved? Below, we analyze the specific causes and prevention methods.
What causes anthurium leaves to turn yellow, with scorched and dried edges?
1. In the first case, if both old leaves and new leaves turn yellow at the same time, the main cause is a long-term lack of light. Solution: appropriately increase light exposure.
2. In the second case, if the old leaves turn yellow, the main cause is long-term lack of water or watering that does not soak through, which produces this situation. Solution: water thoroughly every time.
3. In the third case, if the new leaves turn yellow but the old leaves are normal, that indicates the amount of watering is too much, or there is a lack of fertilizer. Solution: control watering, or apply additional fertilizer.
Prevention and control methods
First, cut off the yellowed leaves, place the plant in a cool spot, wait until the water is almost dry, and then water again; do not rush to fertilize. There may be two situations: one is that the air humidity is too low, meaning it is too dry; the other is a lack of trace mineral elements.
Second, control temperature and humidity well, let the plant get some sun in the morning and evening, and fertilize appropriately.
When anthurium shows symptoms of yellowing, drying and rotting leaves, it may also be caused by bacteria. To eliminate the bacteria, spray a 0.3% solution of garlic juice, a 0.2% solution of rice vinegar, or fungicides such as carbendazim or chlorothalonil at 800-1000 times dilution for prevention and control.
When growing anthuriums indoors, manage them in a semi-shaded, humid environment; the best temperature is between 20-25°C, and it must not be higher than 33°C, otherwise uncomfortable symptoms easily appear; keep air humidity between 75-90%, as below 50% the leaf edges easily become scorched and dry.
