The cyclamen plant is rather short, with flowers held above the leaves, looking just like a hydrangea and very beautiful, and it also carries the meaning of hospitality, making it very popular among flower lovers.

The flowering period of cyclamen generally runs from December to March of the following year; by May it basically will not bloom, in June the leaves drop off as appropriate, and in summer it enters dormancy.

Today Huar just wants to introduce to everyone: do these few steps in cyclamen care, and it can still bloom once more in May.

1. Light

A plant cannot bloom without light; only sufficient light allows the cyclamen to carry out photosynthesis and speed up metabolism. As May arrives, the weather gets hotter and hotter and the light gets stronger and stronger, so it should be moved to a spot with bright, indirect light for care.

2. Temperature

The optimal temperature to promote flowering in cyclamen is 18-22°C, so its temperature must be controlled and kept at the optimal level, avoiding overly high temperatures that would push it into semi-dormancy. At night it can be moved to an air-conditioned room so it can form buds better.

3. Watering

There is no need to water cyclamen too frequently; just water thoroughly once the potting soil shows signs of turning pale. When the weather is relatively dry, you can spray some water mist on the leaves every morning and evening. Once flower buds appear, water the leaves less; you can use the soaking method to water it, placing it in a basin of shallow water so the water enters the soil through the bottom holes and is absorbed by the roots, which also lowers the temperature and increases humidity.

4. Fertilizing

Cyclamen is a fertilizer-loving plant. During the flowering period, stop applying nitrogen fertilizer and switch to phosphorus-potassium fertilizer, applying a diluted phosphorus-potassium liquid fertilizer about every ten days, while also spraying 0.1% monopotassium phosphate on both the front and back of the leaves to promote flowering and extend the flowering period.

5. Pruning

All the relatively dense branches and leaves that hinder ventilation, as well as old branches and leaves, should be pruned away. This helps concentrate the nutrient supply, allowing the cyclamen to produce more flower buds and promoting the full opening of the flower buds.

That is all for sharing cyclamen care. If flower lovers have other additions, you can share them with everyone in the comment section below. To learn more about flower-growing knowledge, you can follow Huajianke!
