Lupine varieties and care methods, a great gift for mom

Lupine and lupin actually refer to the same plant under both names. Lupines are brightly colored and come in a very wide range of varieties, making them deeply loved by everyone.
Lupine varieties: yellow lupine, white lupine, Gallery, etc.
(1) Yellow lupine
The leaves of yellow lupine are yellow, and when it blooms it also gives off a delicate fragrance. It is extremely drought tolerant and grows well in sandy soil, but when grown in calcareous soil it can develop a type of chlorosis.
(2) White lupine
White lupine, just as its name suggests, produces white flowers, and it also has some fine hairs. Its leaves are obovate.
(3) Gallery
Gallery is a newly bred variety. Compared with other lupines, Gallery is somewhat shorter. But its flower spikes are very robust, and when it blooms it can produce more than 10 flower spikes at most. Gallery lupine comes in many flower colors, including red, yellow, blue, white and so on.
Growing tips: Before growing lupines, the first thing is to choose good soil. Since lupines like a cool environment, it is best to choose loose, fertile soil with good drainage. Of course, since lupines like acidic conditions, you can consider acidic soil before choosing.
Lupines are generally propagated by seed, and choosing a good growing time is also an important factor. If the seeds are sown in spring, lupines will grow slowly in summer, the flowering period will be shortened, and their ornamental value may decline as a result. Therefore, when choosing the sowing time, it is best to choose autumn.
Summer weather is relatively hot, so when growing lupines be sure to provide shade to avoid the leaves dropping due to excessive heat; in winter, also pay attention to warmth-retention measures, and the temperature is best kept above 6°C.
Lupines are an extremely easy plant to keep alive. In ordinary times, also pay attention to watering lupines, and during routine care, be careful to cut off the flowers that have already withered, so as to avoid attracting pests and diseases. In fact, as long as you ensure that lupines can get through summer safely, by the next year you can see beautiful spikes of lupines.
A great gift for mother: Besides being ornamental, lupine also carries a meaning: blessing mothers throughout the world and thanking them for their selfless dedication. Lupines bloom along country paths, and after they die they turn into fertilizer, providing nutrients to the grass and other plants by the roadside. Is this not just like how mothers raise us, selfless and great? Lupine also has another name; it is called the mother flower by people around the world.
