Summer has arrived, and for many friends who love growing flowers, this is something to pay attention to. The rise in temperature has an obvious effect on plants; for some flowers, if they do not take in enough water or are not watered for a long time, the plants are very likely to grow poorly or even die. So below I will introduce several kinds of plants that love moisture, so everyone can be more aware.

1. Gardenia

The pure white, flawless gardenia is one of the typical plants with a relatively high water requirement. It likes a warm and humid environment. During its growth period, the gardenia especially needs a proper increase in watering amount, but the soil must not be allowed to become waterlogged. In hotter seasons, you can use a watering can to spray some water mist on the gardenia's leaves, which can also raise the air humidity around it and help it grow quickly. If the gardenia is not watered in time, once you notice it you should immediately replenish the water. When the situation is more serious, you can use the soaking-pot method: fill a basin with a certain amount of water, place the potted plant in it, and take it out after a period of time.

2. Milan flower (Aglaia odorata)

The Milan flower has lush branches and leaves, with emerald-green foliage, and when it blooms it gives off a faint, fresh fragrance that makes people feel refreshed. For the Milan flower, it relatively prefers a warm and humid environment. During the growth period, watering should generally be thorough, but it does not need frequent watering; it is best to water again after the potting soil has dried. If the Milan flower lacks water for a long time, leaf drop will be relatively serious. At this time, absolutely do not immediately water it thoroughly, as this will cause the plant to drop a large number of leaves in a short time and lead to death. It is best to loosen the surface layer of the soil, spray a certain amount of water on its leaves once in the morning and once in the evening, and wait until the leaves stop dropping before carrying out normal care.

3. Yuanbao tree (water hemp willow)

The Yuanbao tree can generally also be called water hemp willow. Because its meaning is very good, many people use young Yuanbao trees as potted plants placed indoors for viewing, while large Yuanbao trees are usually planted in courtyards or used for urban greening. It prefers sunlight and is relatively tolerant of water and moisture. Usually during its growth period, watering generally means watering thoroughly, and then watering again after the soil has dried. If the plant lacks water for a long time, the leaves will turn yellow. At this time, you should spray water on its leaf surface, but note that after spraying you must pour out the accumulated water in the saucer, place it in a ventilated place, and carry out scientific management after it returns to normal growth.

4. Calla lily

Because the calla lily's appearance is elegant and graceful, and its flower colors are also relatively rich, it is often used in bouquets and vases. Since the calla lily by nature loves moisture, it needs more watering during its growth and development stage, and it is not drought-tolerant, so during its summer dormant period the watering amount should be controlled. If the calla lily is short of water, first maintain a certain amount of watering and place it in a cool place; second, also choose to loosen the soil a bit to ensure the water can be fully absorbed by the plant.

5. Maidenhair fern

The maidenhair fern is relatively widely distributed. Because it likes water, you must handle water replenishment well. Generally speaking, during its development period the maidenhair fern needs watering on average once every 1-2 days; in hot seasons, keep spraying water on its leaf surface to increase air humidity, and even in winter, the soil should still be kept suitably slightly moist. If the plant is not watered in time and becomes short of water, at this time you should water a bit more and also spray water mist on the surrounding environment to keep it moist, so it can slowly return to a normal growth track.
