How to grow Dendrobium orchids? Learn the correct cultivation methods
1. Growing environment
1. Soil: It is best to use soil with good air permeability and drainage.
2. Ventilation: Air circulation can prevent the occurrence of diseases. Water thoroughly so that fresh air can be brought into the soil.
3. Temperature: The suitable temperature for its growth is 15-28°C. When the temperature is below 5°C or above 35°C, it will enter a dormant state and stop growing.
4. Fertilizing: Compound fertilizer can be used for feeding, and light fertilizer should be applied frequently. Do not apply too much fertilizer, otherwise it will cause fertilizer damage.
2. Propagation methods
Cutting propagation: Use relatively healthy branches that have not bloomed, cut them into sections with 2-3 nodes each, apply plant ash to the cut surfaces, and insert them into the soil. Place them in a semi-shaded environment and do not water within one week. After 1-2 months, new plants will grow.
3. Common diseases
1. Anthracnose: It mostly occurs on leaves, causing many spots to appear. Once discovered, promptly cut off the affected leaves to prevent harm to healthy parts, and then spray with carbendazim solution.
2. Yellow spot disease: After onset, yellow diseased spots will appear on the leaves, and black mold will also appear on the spots. When the disease occurs, use chlorothalonil powder for control.
