Although buying nutrient soil for planting succulents is not expensive, nutrient soil is quite heavy and hard to carry, and planting succulents uses up a lot of soil, so constantly buying succulent soil is not a viable solution.

Many times we can dig up soil in the garden, by the roadside, or in the mountains, so how do we transform garden soil into soil suitable for succulent growth?

First collect the garden soil and remove the residual grass and waste debris from it. Then collect some coal cinders; if you do not have coal cinders, you can use burned honeycomb coal briquettes instead, but let the coal cinders sit and dry in the sun for a few days before using them. Then prepare some fine sand to improve the soil. You also need some nutrient soil to increase the fertility of the garden soil.

First prepare two parts coal cinders, then mix in one part garden soil.

Add one part fine sand to increase the soil's air permeability.

One part nutrient soil is enough, and it can increase the soil's air permeability.

Just stir it evenly.

Planting Sedum morganianum 'Burrito' (donkey tail) in soil mixed this way still makes it grow relatively fast.

Planting Pachyphytum 'Amethyst' (peach egg) makes it grow plump and round.

Planting Crassula 'Campfire' (fire sacrifice) easily brings out its colors.

Planting Crassula mesembryanthemoides (velvet needle) is also very beautiful.

In fact, you do not necessarily have to use succulent nutrient soil for planting succulents; we can also improve garden soil, and it can likewise grow beautiful succulents.
