When bougainvillea stops growing new shoots during its flowering period, this treatment will quickly make it bloom all over again

Teaches you step by step how to grow flowers
The new shoots on the bougainvillea's branches have stopped growing - why is that?
First of all, while the bougainvillea is blooming, new shoots keep growing, and during that growth new flower buds keep appearing. As long as there are enough nutrients, its new shoots will keep growing, until the nutrients run short or watering is not done in time - then it will stop growing, which is exactly the situation shown in the picture.
When this happens, it proves that its flowering period is about to end. After this batch of flowers finishes blooming, all its flowers will drop off. After they drop, it begins a new round of growth, or we can make it bloom again by fertilizing and controlling water.
At this point, if you want it to keep blooming for a while longer, you can put it in a place with relatively weaker light. This can extend its flowering period. After the flowers have completely dropped, you need to start pruning. Control water, and then let it bloom again.
After it finishes blooming, cut off all the spent flowers and spent stems, and keep two to three nodes of leaves on the top branches. Cut off all the overly dense branches and the thin, small branches inside. Do not keep too many branches, because each branch will have quite a few buds, including on old branches - the buds are the places that will later grow out and bloom. As long as you have enough buds, there is no need to keep too many branches, because with too many, the nutrients cannot keep up with the supply. When the time comes, few flowers or no flowers, only shoots growing - this is the reason. It will only be counterproductive, so you must prune heavily.
About the water control process, let me briefly explain it again here. After pruning is done, give it one application of a mixed fertilizer with multiple elements to replenish. After about ten days, start giving it potassium dihydrogen phosphate. After about two applications, the nutrients it consumed are basically replenished, and it starts growing branches - then we need to start controlling water. Put the bougainvillea in a place with very abundant sunlight. When the potting soil has dried out completely and the leaves start to wilt, give it a little water. After watering, its leaves will perk up. Then let it dry out again and give it a little more water, and repeat this cycle. In between, every ten days, give it one thorough watering with potassium dihydrogen phosphate. Keep this up for one to two months, and it will be able to produce flower buds. At this point, stop fertilizing and stop controlling water, and water normally without letting it go short of water. Just let it bloom, and it will quickly burst into full bloom.
