Seven heat-tolerant and drought-tolerant potted plants that bloom more vigorously the stronger the sunlight

If you are worried that high temperatures and overly intense sunlight in summer will kill many plants, then you should take a look at the following seven flowers. They all love dry environments, and the more sunlight they get, the more beautiful their blooms become. They are also especially easy to care for, with excellent adaptability to their environment, and are extremely hard to kill.
1. Zinnia
Zinnias can be sown and propagated directly after spring warms up. You can scatter the seeds directly in the yard or grow them in seedling trays. As long as the weather is cool and there is a warm, humid environment year-round, they will grow well. When sowing indoors, maintain good ventilation to avoid mold infection.
Before sowing, you can soak the seeds in a carbendazim solution. When watering, do not let water accumulate. During the growing period, provide plenty of sunlight and a cool, well-ventilated environment. In summer, they like to grow in dry locations, and you need to give them as much light as possible for them to grow well.
2. Madagascar periwinkle
Madagascar periwinkle is an especially easy-to-grow plant. Its heat tolerance and ability to withstand intense sun exposure are excellent. It can grow vigorously under hot, bright light and will keep blooming continuously from after spring warms up until frost arrives. It also works very well as a potted plant, has good drought tolerance, and the stronger the sunlight, the better its flowers bloom.
Madagascar periwinkle can be propagated directly by seed, or you can cut a section of stem for cuttings. In soil, it will take root and sprout in 2 to 3 weeks. Madagascar periwinkle actually has many varieties with different flower colors, including the common red, white, pink, apricot, and blue-purple.
3. Moss rose
Moss rose, also called rose moss, can grow with just a small amount of water. In summer, it is especially heat-tolerant and drought-tolerant, blooming vigorously in exposed sun. However, it is afraid of cold, and the minimum care temperature should be kept above 5°C.
You can choose to sow after spring warms up. Its seeds have a particularly high germination rate. Keep the soil loose and well-draining, water regularly, and keep the soil moist; it will germinate easily. During the seedling growth stage, avoid watering with large amounts of water, otherwise the seedlings are prone to lodging. In later growth, give as much light as possible and avoid shade, otherwise flowering will be affected. Its flower colors are very rich, including the common yellow, orange, cream, white, red, pink, and purple, and you can also grow some double-petaled varieties.
4. Cosmos
Cosmos is a fresh and beautiful flower that blooms especially vigorously in summer. It can withstand very high temperatures, has excellent heat tolerance, and is also very drought-tolerant. For cultivation, you can propagate directly by seed. In late spring, you can scatter the seeds directly in the soil, and you will see flowers in 8 to 10 weeks. Caring for cosmos requires plenty of light, and the soil should be loose and well-draining.
When sowing, do not cover the seeds with too much soil, otherwise seed germination will be affected. After the seedlings emerge, thin them appropriately and maintain a certain spacing. During the growing period, cosmos does not need frequent fertilizing; its demand for fertilizer is relatively low.
5. Petunia
Petunia is a relatively heat-tolerant and drought-tolerant plant and is very popular around the world. In spring and summer, you can see its bright and fresh flowers. You can propagate it directly by seed and grow it indoors in a ventilated spot with bright light; it will grow and bloom in 8 to 10 weeks.
After the seedlings emerge, give them more light. As the seedlings grow, gradually increase the light intensity. After the flowers fade, promptly remove the spent blooms and prune regularly to encourage continuous branching and produce more flower buds.
6. Sunflower
Sunflowers have extremely strong heat tolerance and drought tolerance. Most sunflower varieties can adapt to exposed summer sun. For the soil used to grow sunflowers, be sure to choose loose, well-draining sandy soil. The care location should be ventilated and let light through, with more than six hours of direct sunlight each day. During the growing period, you can regularly give a light fertilizer to promote more vigorous growth.
7. Cockscomb
Cockscomb is a plant that is afraid of cold and likes higher heat. It is fine even in exposed summer sun, but be careful to water regularly and avoid excessive drought. After spring warms up, you can sow the seeds. When transplanting seedlings, do not plant them too deep, otherwise the roots are prone to rot.
Cockscomb looks very beautiful. It has different flower colors and different forms; some look like a rooster's comb. Its flower colors are very rich, including the common cream, pink, red, and yellow.
