How to grow a cactus into a three- or four-tier cactus. Generally, if you want to graft multi-tier Christmas cactus, the cactus must be grown into multiple tiers, so that the grafting can create a layered effect. When they bloom together it looks really gorgeous and super beautiful.

If you want the cactus to grow into three or four tiers, or even more tiers, first, when choosing a cactus, you must choose a sturdy pad. After planting a thick pad as a cutting, once its root system has grown well, it will endlessly produce small side shoots, that is, small cactus pads. Since we want a multi-tier effect, cut off all the ones that grow out around the sides, and keep the ones on top.

Keep only one at the top. Let the top pad grow large enough, and it will then produce more cactus side shoots outward. Keep repeating this cycle, always keeping only the top side shoots. Once it has grown to three or four tiers, you can use it for grafting. It is actually very simple.

I happened to be growing some myself, so I went to the greenhouse and took a few photos. I took them at night, just finished taking them. So they look rather dark, but you can see in the picture above that this one also has lots of side shoots growing on top. Once they grow to a certain size, just cut them off and they become another plant. The top side shoots, the big ones, are 30 to 40 cm long.

If you want to propagate cacti in large quantities, you just keep cutting off side shoots endlessly. After the side shoots take root, they continue to produce small ones, and this cycle goes on. How could you ever run out of cacti, no matter how many you want?
