I am located in Wuhan, and have been growing succulents for 5 years. Wuhan has severe cold in winter and intense heat in summer, with only 2 months each for spring and autumn. It cannot compare with the cheat-mode regions, but contentment brings happiness. Growing plants is cultivating the heart, it is spiritual food, and to me, indispensable
I insist on outdoor growing, but when it is coldest in winter I bring them inside. There is heating indoors, so the succulents still grow noticeably in winter
The Echeveria chihuahuaensis that everyone has one of
For several years, so beautiful beyond words, but it easily drops leaves in summer
Mammillaria elongata, so cute, and it is actually about to bloom
When I bought it, it was said to be Zi Di, but I could not find it on Baidu. Whatever it is called, as long as it follows me, I will treat it well
Blue Apple, its coloring has always stayed this pale
Tender Echeveria 'Bai Feng'
Several years now, an old companion, never abandoned
The elegant Pachyphytum 'Qingxing Meiren'
Echeveria pulidonis, I want to keep it compact; this variety looks bad once it gets too large
Qiluo
I do not know how many pots of Sedum 'Laoer' there are; summer is hard for them
Sedum 'Xiaomi Xing' and Sedum 'Labi', varieties that do not need a temperature difference and will become beautiful as long as they get enough sun
I inexplicably love this shade of purple, N pots
Group photo
I mix the soil myself, with soil and grit at a 7 to 3 ratio
The somewhat expensive Pinky my sisters gave me, truly beautiful
Grown up from leaf propagation
Looking at them, I feel inner peace, quiet years, serene time
Yellow Bear and White Bear, I hope they can successfully get through summer this year
The Jade Cup that fell downstairs, found by searching with a flashlight
The Debbie that lost all its leaves in summer, good child
Seems to be Sasa
Pink Graptopetalum mendozae, several pots, just how much do I like it
Echeveria pulvinata, in summer it easily drops leaves down to bare stems, must be careful
Growing succulents really does not allow laziness. You must observe more, deal with problems promptly, and master the necessary care knowledge
Unknown name, 4 years
The dignified Echeveria 'Bing Yu'
Pansy, fades extremely fast, must have a temperature difference
Sedum 'Chunmeng', this one must be kept compact in a small pot; once large it becomes silly rather than cute
A tray of leaf cuttings
Through the blazing summer, quietly waiting for spring and autumn; of course, winter succulents are also extremely beautiful
As for watering, I just touch the leaves; if they are not soft, I absolutely will not get itchy hands
I am not quite willing to use thumb pots to keep succulents compact; I still hope the plants can live more comfortably. Of course, this is purely my personal preference
In summer you must shade them. When it is hottest, and early in the hot period, you can use a fan at night. Be sure to control water, but absolutely do not cut it off completely
My personal experience is that any grit is fine for the soil mix: rainbow stone, maifan stone, coarse sand, whatever you have, give whatever you have. Then give slow-release fertilizer. I personally think that as long as it is life, it needs nutrients, and over time the soil drains out through the bottom holes, so nutrients must be supplied. You can also collect eggshells, crush them, sun-dry them, and mix them into the soil.
Carola
They are all common varieties, and all are the flesh of my heart
Echeveria 'Zi Le', which does not easily produce side shoots; if you want it to have many offspring, you have to behead it
Pansy at its most beautiful, and also the easiest to fade
The Peach Eggs
This is not Echeveria 'Zi Zhenzhu', it is Lilac
Borrowing a line from Mr. Lao She: "There is joy and sorrow, laughter and tears, flowers and fruit, fragrance and color. It requires labor and also broadens knowledge. This is the joy of growing flowers."
