After its flowers fade, the first thing to do is remove the remaining flower spikes, then clear away the fallen leaves in its pot. After that, loosen the soil a bit, then sterilize with different tools. Finally, add a small amount of fertilizer and place it in a bright area for care.

1. Pruning

After its flowers wither, you should first remove the remaining flower spikes and the like, which reduces nutrient consumption and also leaves some nutrients to help it grow after blooming.

Then you can remove the fallen leaves in the pot, because they may well carry pests and diseases. Cut them off when the flowers fade; it is best not to let it set fruit, otherwise it will consume too much fertilizer and affect the growth of new axillary buds.

2. Loosening the Soil

You should clear out all the spent flower medium, take out the roots of the dead flowers, and then loosen the soil appropriately, which is better for root growth.

3. Fertilizing

First, sterilize it, but do not use the same tool repeatedly, otherwise if there are diseased leaves among them it will cause cross-infection. Then sterilize with a fungicidal agent.

Second, after seven days give the leaves one round of fertilizer, in a smaller amount than usual, and after one month resume normal fertilizing management. You can bury some fertilizer or additives around its pot to replenish the consumed nutrients; remember the amount must not be too much, otherwise it will cause fertilizer burn.

Finally, if the season is suitable, you can divide the plant, so they can sprout and grow faster.

4. Light

Then you can place it in a bright area in the house, so it will not grow leggy. Usually be careful not to water too much; wait until the soil is dry before watering, otherwise the roots will rot very quickly.
