Summer Food and Farming Challenge Camp: A learning camp where kids get hands-on and cook for themselves
In recent years, as food safety issues keep emerging, many people have begun to examine the sources and ingredients of the food they eat every day in order to eat with greater peace of mind. Parents with children in particular, for the sake of the next generation's health, hope to check every layer, wanting their children to eat healthily. But children who have received tireless care from their parents - once away from their parents' side, do they also have the ability to safeguard their own health when it comes to food? Or, as long as they get to decide their own meal, will they always choose fried chicken rather than vegetables and fruit? If they are to cook, will they only pour hot water over instant noodles rather than wash rice and cook it? And is this also the reason children cannot truly know the taste of food?
Is it really so hard for children to choose good food for themselves? Not at all! Not at all! This summer vacation, "Satoyama Juku" wants to invite "children who want to become kids who can make smart decisions about their own food" to join together for the "Summer Food and Farming Grand Challenge"!

In each challenge, besides the healthy eating concepts that moms and dads all care about, there is also the wisdom and culture of satoyama residents. During this three-day, two-night camp, children must personally prepare or choose a total of four meals. Through these challenges, they can better understand where food comes from and how precious it is, and learn the ability to choose food and cook food. Even if in the future they face situations where they must decide their own meals, they will have more ability to make better food choices for themselves!
The camp still has openings at present, and the August session is about to fill up. We welcome children to use this summer vacation to become little food and farming pioneers together!
