April has just passed, and I believe many succulent lovers have planted a few pots of cute new succulents during the spring of April, but for beginners who have just gotten into succulents, acclimatizing succulents has always been a problem that troubles them, so today I will simply give everyone a succulent acclimatization guide, hoping my little methods can also be of some help to friends who have just started.

The first issue is the growing environment. I personally suggest that when choosing a soil mix medium, you must add a little water to the prepared medium and stir it (to keep the pot soil moisture even). If you plant succulents directly in dry soil, you also need to add a little water along the pot wall at the beginning, but not too much; just enough to keep the pot soil with a certain moisture (this kind of environment can promote rooting of new succulents).

The second is the growing temperature. The best temperature for growing new succulents is between 15-25°C (if the temperature is higher or lower than this range, they are not easy to survive). Especially in summer, if the root system of the succulent has wounds, then it is very easy to be infected with fungal diseases. As for growing new succulents in winter or late autumn, you need to prepare a seedling box in advance.

The last is the influence of light. For newly planted or newly transplanted succulents, they cannot receive long periods of direct light in the early stage (at most 1 hour of direct light in the evening or early morning), because overly strong direct light is not only unfavorable to root development, but in serious cases can also easily lead to black rot infection (but if they receive no light at all, succulents are prone to leggy growth). Therefore, during the acclimatization process of succulents, you must provide sufficient light according to the actual environment.

Remember one thing: the biggest taboos when growing succulents in May are a stuffy, hot, and humid environment and overly strong direct light (May is also the time to prepare ahead for getting through summer!).
