Cineraria, also known as florist's cineraria, has tall and dwarf varieties, is covered with fine hairs, and has leaves as large as gourd leaves with a glossy sheen, revealing a uniquely lovely charm. It represents happiness and joy and is very suitable for decorating the home, and in recent years it has been deeply loved by netizens.

Today Hua'er will introduce to everyone how to care for cineraria well, so you can harvest a good mood every day.

1. Light

Cineraria is a light-loving plant. Sufficient light can make its leaves thick, dark, and glossy, and its flowers bright. However, it is not tolerant of strong sun exposure, and especially must not be exposed to direct sunlight, which can cause leaves to curl, dry up, and lose their vitality. In summer, especially, shade it, and a little scattered light is enough.

2. Watering

Cineraria has relatively large leaves and needs enough water. Normally, keep the soil slightly moist. When the potting soil shows signs of turning white, water thoroughly in time. In high-temperature summer conditions, you can spray some mist onto the leaves, but not too much, because there are fine hairs on the leaves, and water accumulating for too long can cause the leaves to rot. You can also sprinkle some water around the pot to lower the temperature and raise humidity.

During the flowering period, keep the potting soil appropriately dry, otherwise the leaves will become too large and affect the overall appearance.

3. Fertilizing

During the growth period, you can apply some diluted cake fertilizer or compound fertilizer, which can make the plant more glossy and grow better, applying once about every ten days; when it enters the flowering period, apply some phosphorus and potassium fertilizer and stop applying flower fertilizer with a high nitrogen content, otherwise it will inhibit flower bud formation.

4. Pruning

Cineraria grows very quickly, so prune it irregularly. Timely prune excess branches, old branches, and damaged branches, and also pinch off leggy branches to help side buds grow, making the plant fuller and, when blooming, filling the entire flowerpot.

When repotting, you can plant cineraria of different colors together, which can increase the ornamental value!

That is all for sharing about cineraria. If flower lovers have other additions, you can share them with everyone in the comment section below. If you want to learn more about flower care, you can follow Huajianke!
