Many people have the habit of growing some plants and flowers at home. This way, they can add more natural atmosphere to the home, and secondly, they can let children get more exposure to plants and increase their knowledge. As a relatively easy-to-grow variety, potted plants are deeply welcomed by many families. But in my opinion, although potted plants are good, they are not worth spending money on in the market. What people may not know is that the vegetables I usually can't finish eating, when cultivated in water, can soon become beautiful potted plants for viewing at home. Want to know which vegetables can be used as materials for potted plants? Then please read on.

1. Scallions

Scallions are very easy to grow. Growing a pot of green scallion plants at home is especially pleasing to the eye.

First, cut off the root part of the scallions, keeping a portion of the greenish stem.

Place the cut root part into a glass bottle, keep it upright, and cover the scallion roots with clear water by 3~5 cm.

Place it on the balcony and make sure it gets sunlight every day. Watching it grow taller bit by bit is also very satisfying~

2. Garlic

Garlic will sprout on its own if left for a long time. Put the sprouted garlic into a container or plate filled with clear water, with the water covering half of the garlic or just the roots. After 1 week, there will be green garlic sprouts.

3. Celery

Although celery looks quite large, it is actually very easy to grow, because it usually comes with roots and does not require waiting through a long root-developing stage.

Cut off a small section of the root base of the celery, put it into a glass bottle, and pour in clear water to a height of about 3 cm above the roots. Change the water once every 2 days. After about 1 week, green shoots will emerge from the celery heart.

4. Carrot

Cut off about 3-5 cm of the carrot top. Place the cut side of the carrot top facing down, flat in a container, and add a small amount of clear water. After new shoots appear, place it in a spot with light.

5. Sweet potato

When it comes to sweet potatoes, if you only think of roasted sweet potatoes, you are out of date! Sweet potato potted plants can also be super elegant.

Find a bottle filled with water, place the pointed end of the sweet potato downward, and soak half or one third of it in water. You can use toothpicks to fix its position. After new shoots grow, you can also remove the root section of the shoots and directly put the roots and leaves in water, and they can still grow, and can even become a small potted plant of sweet potato leaves.
