Taichung Green Food Education Series Courses: Field Walk Mini Trips and The Table in Books

Where to go with the family on weekends? The Homemakers United Foundation Taichung Chapter invites everyone to listen to stories, visit farmland, and easily learn about green food education in daily life.
Combining Taichung's local agriculture, produce, and seasonal solar terms, through visits to production sites or through green food education picture books, participants get hands-on understanding of Taichung's specialty crops and local cuisine.
*Due to material preparation, all activities require online registration.

1. Field Walk Mini Trip - Food, Have You Been Genetically Modified?

Time: 5/20 (Sun) 9:00~12:30

Location: Chung Shan Medical University, Zhang Buda Building, Room 406

Activity Content:

Understanding GM and non-GM food (1hr)

Experience the charm of non-GM food (0.5hr) Xindou Food & Farming Workshop teaches you how to make freshly poured tofu pudding

DIY food GMO testing (2hr) - bring 2 kinds of soybean products

Target: Students in grades 5 and 6 of elementary school and above, and their families, 10 families total

Fee: 80 yuan per person, paid on site.

2. Field Walk Mini Trip - Bitter and Sweet Malian (Revolutionary Malva)

Time: 6/2 (Sat) 9:30~12:30

Location: Donghai Food Education Base (fb)

Activity Content:

Listen to the green picture book - Bitter and Sweet Malian, personally handle the malian, cook a pot of good soup, and eat.

Fee: 450 yuan/2 people (one adult and one child), adults 250 yuan, children 200 yuan. Those 13 and above are charged the adult price, those under 13 are children.

3. The Table in Books Green Food Education - Milk Tea Is So Good

Time: 6/30 (Sat) 9:30~11:30

Location: Homemakers United Foundation Taichung Chapter (2F, No. 61, Sanmin West Road, West District)

Activity Content:

Listen to the green picture book - Milk Tea Is So Good, personally cook a pot of milk tea, prepare small desserts, and enjoy tea elegantly.

Fee: Each group is charged NT$250/2 people (one adult and one child); each additional adult is 150 yuan, each child is 100 yuan, and each group must have at least one adult registered.
