Haworthia cooperi of the genus Haworthia does not actually like environments with abundant light; instead, it has a particular fondness for cooler, semi-shaded environments. Its main growing seasons are still spring and autumn, but when we grow Haworthia cooperi, we still need to ensure the potting soil has a certain level of air humidity (Haworthia cooperi is a humidity-loving succulent). It is relatively tolerant of drought, but not of cold, and it dislikes high temperatures, scorching sun and humid environments, but it must not be kept in full shade.

When temperatures rise in summer, Haworthia cooperi enters a self-protective dormant period, and its growth rate becomes increasingly slow or stops. So in summer we need to keep Haworthia cooperi in a ventilated, cool, dry, semi-shaded environment for care, avoiding the scorching summer sun and prolonged rainy seasons. Remember to restrain your eager hands and control the amount of watering, then wait until autumn arrives before resuming normal care.

Haworthia cooperi is highly sensitive to light. If the light is too strong, its leaves will develop poorly; especially in summer, when direct sunlight is strong, the leaves are very easily scorched and left with unsightly marks. But an overly shaded environment will cause Haworthia cooperi to grow a loose, non-compact form, so from May we can give Haworthia cooperi a layer of shade netting.

Haworthia cooperi and similar succulents prefer to grow in loose, fertile, well-draining media. A commonly used mix is peat soil : coarse sand or vermiculite = 2:3, to which a small amount of bone meal can be added as a base fertilizer, and some active substances can also be added. Watering principle: during the growing season, follow the principle of not watering until dry, and when watering, water thoroughly, avoiding water accumulation in the potting soil, and even more so do not subject it to the test of the rainy season, to avoid root rot in Haworthia cooperi. But it also must not be dry for long periods, otherwise Haworthia cooperi may show signs of dying.

No fertilization is needed during the dormant period in summer's high temperatures or winter's lower temperatures. The best time to fertilize is on a clear morning or evening.
