Pregnant women need to be careful when keeping flowers; these kinds of flowers must never be kept at home

Keeping flowers indoors can, on one hand, clean the air and add a touch of vitality, and on the other hand, it can cultivate the mind, lift the spirits and purify the soul. But for special groups like pregnant women, keeping flowers requires extra care!
So what are the taboos for pregnant women when keeping flowers, and which flowers should be kept out of indoor spaces?
1. Plants with strong fragrance and abundant pollen
Plants with strong fragrance and abundant pollen should not be placed indoors, especially in small indoor spaces. Breathing in too much of their scent easily causes dizziness and headaches, and can easily make a person irritable and reduce appetite; an overly strong floral scent can also easily cause vomiting. Common examples include lilies, narcissus, hydrangeas, geraniums, Chinese roses, datura and crape myrtle.
2. Do not keep toxic flowers
For example, with magnolia, if the skin touches a broken stem or leaf, it can cause a strong irritation. Mimosa and tulips can cause hair loss; oleander is highly toxic, and poisoning occurs after contact or accidental ingestion, and in severe cases it can even lead to miscarriage. Common toxic flowers include poinsettia, yellow azalea, anthurium, zhuangyuanhong, narcissus, and lucky bamboo.
3. Do not keep cancer-promoting plants at home
There are as many as 52 species of flowers and plants that can promote cancer, such as crown-of-thorns, red-backed osmanthus, croton, and tinospora, which can induce nasopharyngeal cancer, esophageal cancer and others. Those who have a pregnant woman at home need to choose flowers with caution.
4. Do not keep plants that can trigger allergies
If there are people at home with sensitive skin, the following plants should not be kept at home, such as the common lantana, geranium and redbud; their floral scent is also very strong, and for people with sensitive skin, even touching them may trigger skin allergies, and in severe cases it can also cause symptoms such as itching.
