Don't water or fertilize your Christmas cactus (Schlumbergera) carelessly this season - do it right and it will bloom profusely by the end of the year

The Christmas cactus (Schlumbergera) is a very popular flowering potted plant. It has many varieties and comes in highly diverse colors, such as peach, bright red, apricot, and pure white, and so on. No matter which color, they are all very beautiful and attractive, making it an ideal potted plant for decorating the home, and there are especially many flower lovers who like Christmas cacti.
In the current season, when growing a Christmas cactus, fertilizing and watering must be done right - don't do it carelessly, and it will bloom profusely by the end of the year!
The leaves of the Christmas cactus are thick and juicy and can store water, so it is relatively drought-tolerant. In the north, where the temperature has already reached 20 to 25 degrees, you can water once every 1-2 days. In the south, where it has already reached above 30 degrees, you can water once a day, and also spray water on the leaves to prevent water from evaporating too quickly, which would make the leaves soft and wilted.
When fertilizing the Christmas cactus in the current season, you can apply some dilute nitrogen fertilizer, once every 15 days, which can promote strong roots and make the leaves more emerald green and lush, thick and juicy. When the roots and leaves grow well, the flowers will bloom more and more vigorously by the end of the year.
Entering July and August, fertilization should be stopped, as the weather is relatively hot and it is very easy to burn the roots.
After entering autumn, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be the main focus. Do not apply too much nitrogen fertilizer, otherwise it is easy to cause the branches to grow long without blooming. And for three consecutive months, ensure light for more than 8 hours, which can let the Christmas cactus bloom smoothly by the end of the year, and increase the number of flowers, making the flower colors more vivid.
That's all for watering and fertilizing the Christmas cactus!
