Grandma is a longtime flower enthusiast. I remember that when I was very little, she already started growing potted plants and flowers at home. A few years ago, she picked up a branch from somewhere, tossed it casually into a flowerpot, and unexpectedly it has now grown into a one-meter-tall tree. A neighbor offered 20,000 yuan and she still wouldn't sell it.

The branch Grandma picked up was a Euphorbia neriifolia (Indian spurge tree). Who would have thought that a dried branch from back then would turn into the big tree it is today? The key is that Grandma cares for it properly. Grandma is usually especially attentive to these potted plants at home, because she knows that Euphorbia neriifolia needs light. If there isn't enough light, it causes the abnormal stems to grow leggy and become columnar stems, so Grandma gives it plenty of light every day.

Then there is watering. Euphorbia neriifolia is especially drought-tolerant, so it doesn't need to be watered that often. Only with proper watering will Euphorbia neriifolia grow tall.

Finally, there is fertilizing. If there is natural fertilizer, that is best of all. Grandma uses what is left over from grinding soy milk as fertilizer, or whole grains and miscellaneous beans, such as peanuts and soybeans. She grinds them into powder, then adds some tap water, and once mixed it is about right. This homemade fertilizer works really well too.
