Remember these 4 points for summer plant care to get through midsummer beautifully

Summer weather always makes it somewhat difficult for many flower lovers to care for their plants, and one careless moment can mean losing a beloved flower. Today Hua'er will tell everyone that to get plants through midsummer beautifully, you must remember these 4 points in care.
1. No waterlogging
Once summer arrives, whether the plants are growing vigorously or have already entered partial dormancy or dormancy, there must be no waterlogging in the pot. In a high-temperature, high-humidity environment, waterlogging prevents the roots from breathing, and it also easily breeds bacteria, which will quickly cause yellow leaves and root rot in the plant.
In summer the soil dries out and hardens. When watering at night or in the morning, many flower lovers have a habit of watering until the potting soil is waterlogged, thinking that since the soil is dry, the water can slowly seep down. This leads to prolonged waterlogging, causing a lack of oxygen in the potting soil and killing the plant.
About half an hour after watering, come back and check the water in the pot. If there is waterlogging, pour it out, then place it in a basin filled with shallow water so the water enters through the holes in the bottom of the flower pot, combining top and bottom watering to water it thoroughly.
2. No scorching sun
The summer sun's light is extremely intense, hot enough to almost fry an egg, let alone plants. Whether shade-loving or sun-loving, it must not be exposed to the scorching sun, especially direct midday sun, which easily scorches leaves and branches. Plants that cannot tolerate sun should be moved to a bright, cool place, and even those that are relatively sun-tolerant should be given appropriate shade to help them grow better.
3. Avoid leggy growth
Leggy growth will change the entire plant and reduce its ornamental value. There are many causes of leggy growth, including light, pruning, and so on.
Insufficient light can cause leggy growth. Some flower lovers move their plants indoors, and they should still let them receive some scattered light from time to time. For those plants that grow vigorously in summer, they should be pruned from time to time, promptly cutting off leggy branches, overly dense branches, diseased branches, and so on, to reduce excessive consumption of nutrients and help the plant grow and bloom.
4. Prevent pests and diseases
Summer is also the peak season for pests and diseases, so plants should be regularly disinfected and sterilized. You can dilute neutral laundry detergent 500 times and spray it on the leaves, spraying both front and back evenly, about once every ten days, to serve as prevention. You can also use fermented orange peel solution, bamboo charcoal, specialized preventive solutions for pests and diseases, and so on.
That is all for plant care. If flower lovers have other additions, you can share them with everyone in the comments section below. To learn more about flower-growing knowledge, you can follow Hua Jian Ke!
