I wonder if any of you flower lovers have ever come across the situation where rose buds won't open. A couple of days ago, a flower lover in Lanyao's reader group asked about this problem. I remember that flower lovers have asked similar questions before, so today Lanyao will explain in detail the reasons why rose buds won't open.
Factors that affect rose buds opening:When growing roses, you will often come across the situation where buds wither before they open. So what exactly causes this problem? Lanyao has briefly summarized the following 5 influencing factors.
1. LightRoses are flowers that love light very much. If they lack light for a long time, it will affect the blooming of the buds. This situation often happens in the rainy season, or after a potted rose is moved indoors. When you find that a rose is not getting enough light, you should increase the light in time.
2. TemperatureTemperature has a very big influence on rose buds opening. Generally, in warm periods such as late spring, a rose needs only about 35 days from pruning to blooming, while in early spring and late autumn when the temperature is lower, a rose needs 40-60 days from pruning to blooming. If the buds won't open because of temperature, you can find ways to add warmth and place the pot in a sunny, warm spot.
3. DiseaseRose buds failing to open due to pests and diseases is most likely to happen in spring and autumn, when the temperature difference between day and night is large. Especially in late autumn, under the double influence of disease and lower temperatures, rose buds often wither before they open. The main disease affecting rose buds opening is gray mold. In spring it is generally not too serious, mostly showing as many colored spots on the buds. In autumn it shows more seriously, directly causing the rose buds to rot before they have fully opened.
4. Insufficient nutrientsSetting aside the influence of pests and diseases, insufficient nutrients is also one of the important factors affecting rose buds opening. Some rose varieties are very multi-headed, with seven or eight or even a dozen buds produced on a single branch. If you do not thin the buds and fertilizer and water management is not up to standard, it will lead to buds failing to open due to insufficient fertilizer and water. This is like a pregnant woman carrying multiple babies: if the nutrition cannot keep up, none of the fetuses grow well, and it is the same principle. If there are many buds, be sure to top-dress in time to ensure a sufficient supply of fertilizer and water.
5. VarietyIf the influence of the above 4 external factors can be ruled out and the rose buds still won't open, then it is very likely a problem with the rose variety itself. Some rose varieties will always remain in a half-open state; that is just their style.....
Common rose varieties that do not open easily include: Goddess of Wisdom, Song of the Sea, Red Dragon, Carnival Party, and others. Roses are now shipped with buds, so flower lovers can enter the shop to buy.
