Leaves Always Curling and Withering? Watch Out for These 3 Taboos, or You Might Kill a Whole Bunch

Recently the temperature has been rising steadily, and the plants kept at home are all bursting with life. But some Money Tree (Pachira aquatica) leaves have started to curl, just like hair with a wavy perm. Don't just think it's fun and ignore it - this may be a sign that it's sick. If you don't deal with it in time, it may just up and die. So today let's talk about the fact that the root causes of curling leaves are mostly these 3, and you need to take them seriously. If you don't fix it, the plant will dry up and die, turning into dried flowers, and you might kill a whole bunch.
1. The plant lacks water
If your plants at home start curling, it may be because they lack water. Many people know that plants are afraid of water accumulating in the pot during care, so many people water their plants very sparingly, which easily causes the plants to curl.
2. Light is too strong
All plants need light to grow, but the light now is especially intense. Whether it's a light-loving plant or a semi-shade plant, under conditions of excessively high temperature and overly strong light, water evaporation from the leaves speeds up, causing the leaves to wither and curl. You can move the potted plant to a shady spot in the room so it gets some scattered light, or you can build a shade structure for it so it isn't directly hit by the sun at noon.
3. Insufficient nutrients
When a plant lacks nutrients, the branches and leaves will compete for them, and some weaker ones, new buds and other branches and leaves will start to curl. For example, if Chinese rose (Rosa chinensis) doesn't get enough nutrients, its leaves easily curl, shrivel and wrinkle. You can bury some organic fertilizer, such as animal manure, bone meal, eggshell powder, etc., and usually when watering, add some diluted liquid fertilizer to boost nutrients. You can also directly repot it and mix new soil, which lets the plant grow better.
4. Avoid heavy fertilizer
In summer, don't assume that because the temperature is high you don't need to fertilize. In fact, plants keep growing all summer long. Therefore, supplementing nutrients is what lets Chinese rose make it safely through summer. However, plants in summer are not suited to heavy fertilizer. Normally, use an organic nutrient solution diluted 500 times, applied together with watering. It is recommended to use it 1 to 2 times a week.
That's all for today's introduction to the causes of plant leaves curling and drying up and the ways to deal with them. I hope it helps friends who love growing flowers. If you have better suggestions, feel free to leave a comment below.
