What to Do When Daphne Leaves Turn Yellow? Causes and Solutions
1. Keep the soil slightly acidic
It likes to grow in loose, nutrient-rich soil. If planted in slightly alkaline soil, its leaves will gradually turn yellow. When this happens, move the plant into slightly acidic soil in time, or regularly spray the soil with FeSO4 solution.
2. Water reasonably
It likes cool, shady places and dislikes excessive water, so you must control the amount of water. If the soil is not dry, there is no need to water; if the soil is dry, you must water it thoroughly. Do not water without soaking it through, leaving the topsoil wet while the soil below is dry. If there is too much water, the roots and stems may rot because the soil is too wet. When this happens, take the plant out of the pot in time, wash the roots and stems clean, replant it in soil, and place it in a cool, windy spot.
3. Fertilize frequently but in small amounts
It likes fertilizer, and the best is well-rotted organic fertilizer, but the amount used each time must not be too much.
4. Plenty of diffused light
It fears the excessively high temperatures and scorching sunlight of summer. In summer, place it on a ventilated, shaded flower stand, or in a spot not exposed to direct sunlight. After late September, it can be exposed to full light.
5. Maintain temperature
Its cold resistance is relatively poor, so it should be moved indoors before Frost's Descent, and the temperature should be kept above 5°C. Only this can ensure its normal growth.
