What to Do When Rose Leaves Turn Yellow? Causes and Solutions

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
When rose leaves turn yellow, you need to take measures according to the cause: if the watering is improper, water properly; if the fertilizing is improper, fertilize properly, and you can apply potassium dihydrogen phosphate and the like, taking care to use a low concentration; if disease appears, spray the corresponding medicine to solve it.

1. Water properly

Improper watering can cause yellow leaves. If it is because of too much water, immediately reduce watering and put it in a cool place; if it is because of too little water, appropriately increase the amount and frequency of watering.

When watering, pay attention to the weather and season. From spring until the flowering period, generally 3 or 4 waterings are enough. In summer and autumn, generally 2 or 3 waterings are enough. When watering, be careful not to let water accumulate at the roots.

2. Fertilize properly

Fertilizing too early is very likely to affect the growth of its roots, so it is most suitable to fertilize this flower in autumn. When fertilizing, remember that it is not suitable to fertilize right after planting, and the nitrogen content in the fertilizer applied must not be too high. It is worth noting that too much or too little fertilizer is bad for its growth, and applying the wrong type of fertilizer can also cause yellow leaves. We can apply potassium dihydrogen phosphate or an aqueous urea solution, etc., taking care to use a lower concentration. If the plant is relatively small and looks unhealthy, you can also appropriately apply foliar fertilizer to its surface.

3. Solve diseases promptly

This plant is still fairly prone to disease. Its common diseases include rust and black spot; in addition, powdery mildew is also very harmful. The occurrence of these diseases can all cause its leaves to turn yellow. Therefore, we should observe more often in normal times and deal with them promptly once symptoms appear. If black spot appears, you can spray medicines such as Daktarin or carbendazim; if powdery mildew appears, you can spray a triadimefon solution; if rust appears, you can spray with 800 times triadimefon, once a week, and it can fully recover after about one month in a row.
