Succulents are all the rage right now. Their adorable shapes and relatively easy care have made them deeply loved by succulent fans, so when a succulent starts growing leggy, it is a real headache. Actually, a leggy succulent is not necessarily a bad thing, we can use it to propagate several more pots of succulents.

The main cause of a succulent growing tall is insufficient light, followed by overwatering, though even under sufficient light conditions, overwatering can easily cause a succulent to grow leggy. Generally, once a succulent has grown leggy, it is irreversible, and wanting to restore a leggy succulent to its original appearance is impossible, but we can still try to rescue it.

When this happens, you generally need to "behead" the succulent, which is removing the botanical apical dominance. After removing the terminal bud, more side shoots will naturally sprout, and this is also the method for solving leggy succulent growth and being able to turn succulents into more pots.

We can cut off the leggy part of the succulent and re-propagate it by cuttings, and remove the relatively sturdy leaves at the bottom to use for leaf propagation, so that in less than a month there will be many more succulents.

Generally, the soil for leaf propagation should be slightly moist. When taking cuttings, pay attention to ventilation. When doing leaf propagation, do not put them in the sun to bake, generally placing them in a bright spot for care is enough, and just mist with water when the soil is dry.

When doing leaf propagation, you also need to observe carefully. If you find the leaves turning black, you need to pick them up and check the rooting situation.

Bud propagation of succulents is also very simple and has no great requirements, you only need to pay attention to two points:

1. Do not expose them to direct sunlight.

2. Do not water too much, generally the roots will slowly grow out in about 20 days.
