Love eating chives? Grow a pot and harvest 3 cuttings in a month, sitting green and lush on the balcony

Chives are a common vegetable in daily life. You can make scrambled eggs with chives, or make dumplings with chive filling. There must be quite a few friends who love eating chives, but the chives bought from the market are spicy and old. Better to grow a pot yourself, and you can harvest 3 cuttings in a month. Placed on the balcony, they stay green and lush, and look beautiful too!
Let's take a look together below!
Preparing materials
Several chive roots (you can choose Pingjiu No. 5), a rectangular flower pot or a special vegetable-growing flower pot, soil,
Soil treatment: you can directly dig some garden soil and add a small amount of organic base fertilizer, such as decomposed chicken manure, decomposed pigeon manure, etc. Or you can directly buy nutrient soil.
Put the soil evenly into the flower pot, water it thoroughly once the night before, and plant the next morning. This way the soil will be slightly drier, and moist but not dry.
Press the prepared chive roots into the soil, spaced 2 to 3 cm apart, cover with a layer of plastic film, and place in a sunny, well-ventilated spot. Keep the soil moist during this period, and in about seven days small seedlings will grow. After the seedlings emerge, remove the film and just care for them normally.
In 20 days you can cut the first batch, and in a month you can eat about three times. Healthy and delicious, organic and pollution-free, eat it however you like!
Daily care
It likes sunny places, but in summer when the weather is hot, you also need to pay attention to shading, as chive leaves easily turn yellow and wilt.
Water must be sufficient. You can water once every two to three days. Tap water should be left to stand for 2 to 3 days before use, otherwise the chlorine and bleach it contains can easily damage the roots.
In addition, in summer it can be kept on the terrace. When there is plenty of rain, you may not need to water it, and relying on rainwater alone it will still grow vigorously, and this also indirectly supplements nitrogen fertilizer.
If you want chives to grow vigorously and quickly, pay attention to topdressing. If you want to eat organic green vegetables, you can water once a week with fermented rice-washing water, and the fertilizer effect is very good.
That's all for today's sharing!
