Cherries cost 30 yuan per jin, but grow one at home and you'll have so much fruit the branches break, and you can eat from it for 10 years

Indoor potted plants are becoming more and more diverse - some people grow flowers, some grow vegetables, and of course some grow fruit. Large cherries, for instance, are a fruit people really love. They are rich in vitamins and can supply people with more nutrients, but the market price is not cheap either, around 30 yuan per jin, so you might as well grow one at home yourself - the fruit will be so plentiful it breaks the branches, and one plant can feed you for 10 years!
To grow a cherry in a pot, you need to prepare soil suitable for its growth and a pot with enough space. For the soil, choose one that is loose, airy, fertile and well-draining. For the pot, choose one with a diameter of 30 cm and a depth of about 30 to 40 cm. Cherry roots have vigorous respiration and a high demand for oxygen, so only with enough space can its root system grow strong.
Once the roots grow well, it will keep producing fruit! And it will bear fruit for many years in a row! From then on you'll have something to eat every year!
You can buy a cherry tree directly. Choose a variety that sets fruit consistently and is suitable for bonsai, such as Huangmi and Brooks. And cherry saplings you buy generally come with roots, so planting them straight into the pot after purchase lets them recover growth faster and gives a higher survival rate.
When caring for cherries in summer, water frequently - once every morning or evening - and when the weather is hot and the air is dry, spray water on the leaves to maintain humidity. During the growing season, also pay attention to fertilizing, applying light fertilizer frequently. You can buy a dedicated compound fertilizer directly, or make some organic fertilizer yourself, such as fermented rice-washing water, decomposed vegetable leaves and fruit peels, and so on - all of these work.
But note: when fertilizing in summer, morning or evening is fine, but do not fertilize at noon - the hot weather makes it easy to burn the roots.
When the buds form and the plant blooms, also pay attention to thinning the flowers; if growth is too dense, it will affect fruit set, making the fruit small and too sour. In addition, after fruit set, promptly remove any fruit with poor growth to avoid consuming too many nutrients and affecting the growth of the other fruit.
Growing a potted cherry indoors - delicious and beautiful - is really so worth it!
