Lucky bamboo turns yellow and develops black stalks right after you buy it? Add a little something and the leaves will be glossy green with white roots filling the vase

Lucky bamboo (Dracaena sanderiana) is also a very common ornamental potted plant with a strong decorative effect, and it also carries the meaning of bringing wealth and turning one's luck around, so it is extremely popular.
I believe many friends have had the same experience as me: a lucky bamboo just bought back home, with yellow leaves and black stalks, and before you even get a few days to enjoy it, it goes straight into the trash can, wasting money for nothing!
Later, a fellow plant lover shared her experience with caring for lucky bamboo, and there were no yellow leaves or black stalks. Below I'm sharing her method with everyone, for reference only!
For a lucky bamboo just bought back home, add a little something to the vase, and the leaves will be glossy green without turning yellow, and thick white roots will fill the vase!
1. For the lucky bamboo you bring home, cut the base at a 45-degree angle, which makes rooting easier. In addition, before putting it in water, it is recommended to soak it in rooting solution for 10 minutes, which can shorten the rooting time, and gradually the thick white roots will fill the vase!
Note: If you have aspirin at home, it can also be used instead of rooting solution. When it meets water it breaks down into acetic acid and salicylic acid, and salicylic acid promotes rooting and prevents rot. That way there will be no black stalks or rotten roots!
2. Also, do not use tap water directly. Tap water contains a lot of chlorine and bleaching powder, which is not good for lucky bamboo rooting and can also cause the lucky bamboo roots to rot, so it is recommended to let it sit for 2 to 3 days before use. Using purified water is best!
3. Before rooting, if the water is not contaminated, do not change the water; you can add water to the vase instead, and the water level should not be too high either!
4. If the lucky bamboo develops yellow leaves, add a little iron powder to the vase of the water-grown lucky bamboo, or put in a rusty iron nail. This can prevent the lucky bamboo's leaves from turning yellow, supplement iron ions, and keep the leaves emerald green and glossy.
5. You can add ferrous sulfate to the lucky bamboo's water. Ferrous sulfate can provide iron ions for the lucky bamboo, making it easier for the lucky bamboo to absorb iron and preventing the lucky bamboo's leaves from turning yellow.
6. When air humidity is low, asparagus fern (Asparagus setaceus) will also develop yellow leaves, so at this time you can cover it with a plastic bag, but be sure to poke a few small holes in the plastic bag for ventilation. After about 3 to 5 days, the yellow leaves will gradually improve!
That's all for today's sharing!
