Ever since I fell in love with growing flowers, there has been no stopping it. It feels like all kinds of things are treasures for growing flowers, such as fruit peels, rotten leaves, nut shells and so on, all excellent for growing flowers, and the trash can at home stays completely empty!

Homemade flower fertilizer from fruit peels and rotten leaves makes Chinese roses and clivias (Clivia miniata) bloom big and brilliant

Collect all kinds of fruit peels, vegetable leaves and so on together, chop them up, put them into a large mineral water bottle. You can ferment them with water, or pour rice-washing water into the mineral water bottle to ferment together. Be careful to leave a hole to prevent an explosion, and place it in a bright spot with indirect light. After about one to two months it will be fully fermented, and this liquid is nutrient water full of fertility!

When watering Chinese roses, clivias and gardenias, you can add this nutrient water to the water and water once a week. It can make the flowers grow lush branches and leaves, with big and brilliant blooms.

Crush sunflower seed shells, pine nut shells and walnut shells, and mix them into the flower soil; the soil becomes nutrient-rich with good drainage and good aeration

Friends who love cracking sunflower seeds and eating pine nuts and walnuts should not throw away the shells either. Crush them with a tool and mix them into the flower soil; this makes the flower soil nutrient-rich and increases drainage and aeration. At the same time, they can also be placed at the bottom of the flower pot for even better drainage and aeration.

For example, when potting up or repotting potted plants such as asparagus fern, rubber tree and money tree, adding these nut shells can reduce the chance of root rot and make the plants grow more and more vigorously.

Eggshells are also a great helper for growing flowers

Wash the eggshells, put them on the balcony to bake in the sun for two days, crush them thoroughly, and add them to the soil. They are a slow-release phosphorus fertilizer that can make flowers bloom big and brilliant and increase the number of blooms.

For example, eggshell powder can be added to the flower soil of gardenias, Chinese roses, camellias and azaleas. Simple and convenient!

But you must wash the egg white off the eggshells and dry them thoroughly in the sun. If you crush them directly and mix them into the soil, it easily breeds many small flying insects, pollutes the environment, and easily causes root rot.

These things are all common waste in daily life, and throwing them in the trash can is useless, but for growing flowers they are truly treasures!

That is all for today's sharing!
