Summer is here, and along with it come the most annoying mosquitoes. Is anyone else like me? Before going to bed, I first catch a few mosquitoes with an electric mosquito swatter, and only then can I go to sleep with peace of mind. Otherwise, there is no way to sleep well all night, and the next morning I can only go to work with dark circles under my eyes!

If you want to kill mosquitoes, you do not have to rely only on an electric mosquito swatter. These 3 kinds of plants can do it too. Put one pot in the room, and the mosquitoes will never buzz again. In one night they eat 10 or 20, gobbling them all up.

Sarracenia

Sarracenia is an expert at catching insects. It is native to the United States. Its leaves secrete a kind of nectar, and its shape is just like a bottle. Inside its pitcher grow downward-pointing hairs. Pests are attracted by the nectar it secretes, fall into the pitcher, get stuck on these hairs, then fall to the bottom and drown, thus killing all kinds of pests, such as flies, mosquitoes, small flying insects and so on.

Care method

If you keep Sarracenia indoors, place it in a spot with plenty of sunlight and good ventilation. Also make sure there is enough humidity, so in summer when the weather is hot, spray water around the Sarracenia 2 to 3 times a day!

Pitcher plant (Nepenthes)

The pitcher plant has a unique appearance, like little money pouches, but do not be fooled by its cute looks. That little money pouch is actually a deadly weapon for catching pests. It gives off a fragrance that lures pests into its pouch. Because the inner wall is very smooth, once they accidentally enter, they slide to the bottom and drown. So with one pot of Nepenthes in the room, who knows how many pests it can kill in a single night!

Care method

The pitcher plant likes a high-temperature and high-humidity environment. Usually you can place it in a spot with plenty of sunlight and good ventilation. For the soil, you can choose peat soil, which is most suitable for its growth!

Venus flytrap

The Venus flytrap also has a very unique appearance. It is a very interesting carnivorous plant. Its leaves are like little shells. When something accidentally lands on its leaves, they close quickly and then produce fluid to kill the insect. If mosquitoes, flies or small flying insects accidentally fall onto its "little shells," they can never get out again.

Growing method

To care for a Venus flytrap, make sure it gets more than 4 hours of light every day. In summer when the weather is hot, be careful when watering the Venus flytrap. Do not use tap water directly; let it sit for 2 to 3 days before use. It likes a moist environment, so you can spray water on the leaves to maintain humidity.

The 3 small potted plants above are both beautiful and easy to grow, and they can also eat pests. If you like them, grow one. Below I share 2 kinds of flowers and plants that are both beautiful and easy to grow, not too violent, and can repel mosquitoes!

Mosquito-repellent plant (Pelargonium citrosum)

The fragrance given off by the mosquito-repellent plant can drive away mosquitoes, but it cannot kill them. Placed indoors, it has an effect similar to mosquito coils.

Moreover, it is very easy to keep alive. As long as you give it enough light and a warm environment, it will grow vigorously.

Orange jasmine (Murraya paniculata, also called Qilixiang)

Qilixiang is also called Qianlixiang. The fragrance it gives off is very rich. It stays evergreen through all four seasons, is elegant and beautiful, and has extremely high ornamental value. It can also drive away mosquitoes. It is a potted plant with very comprehensive functions, and its care method is simple. With rough, extensive care, it can still grow vigorously.

That is all for today's sharing!

If you find it useful, share it with the people around you who need it!
