What to do when the Christmas cactus leaves turn yellow? Here's an easy fix

When caring for a Christmas cactus, it is common to find that, for reasons you may not even notice, its leaves gradually turn yellow. This not only affects the overall visual effect but also makes care more difficult.
So why do Christmas cactus leaves turn yellow? And what methods can prevent this situation?
Control watering
Waterlogged roots are the most common cause of yellowing leaves in Christmas cactus. When watering, control the amount of water and do not overwater, to avoid water accumulation in the pot and root rot.
Cool down in summer
The optimal growing temperature for Christmas cactus is around 25 degrees, and temperatures that are too high or too low are both detrimental to its healthy growth.
Therefore, in summer be sure to take appropriate measures to lower the temperature around the Christmas cactus; too high a temperature will make its leaves turn yellow and wilt.
Prevent and control pests
Especially during the hot summer season, Christmas cactus is easily troubled by pests such as aphids and scale insects, so during regular care be sure to prevent pest infestations and avoid the plant withering and dying because of pests.
Fertilize reasonably
Pay attention to observing the growth of the Christmas cactus. If you find its growth has stalled, it may mean the Christmas cactus has entered a dormant or semi-dormant state.
At such times, stop fertilizing completely. A Christmas cactus in a dormant or semi-dormant state has a very small need for fertilizer, and cutting off fertilizer is the best choice in this situation. Otherwise, at best the leaves turn yellow, and at worst the plant dies from fertilizer burn.
