Jasmine is a flowering plant that many flower lovers adore. When you first buy it, it usually comes with lots of buds, and you look forward to the day they bloom. But as you care for it, the buds drop and the leaves turn yellow, which is a bit of a shame. To grow potted jasmine well, so that its leaves stay green and it flowers nonstop, you can follow the steps below.

1. More sunlight means more and bigger flowers

Jasmine can bloom from May to November. During this period, let your jasmine get plenty of sunlight. The longer the sunlight exposure, the better it blooms, with large flowers and plenty of them. However, at midday in the height of summer, you can shade it appropriately; the rest of the time, just let it bask.

2. It loves water but cannot tolerate waterlogged soil

Jasmine loves water. If the soil dries out even slightly, or if there is a bit of waterlogged soil, it will drop buds and leaves and die easily. Water according to the principle of "don't water until dry, and water thoroughly when you do." In the current weather, you can water once a day, but don't let water accumulate.

3. Fertilizing makes it grow vigorously

Flowering plants all love fertilizer, and jasmine is no exception. During bud formation and the flowering period, apply more organic fertilizer and phosphorus-potassium fertilizer, such as cake fertilizer and bone meal fertilizer, and also continuously add nitrogen fertilizer to use alongside them, once a week.

4. Find some vinegar and dilute it in water to spray

Vinegar can be used to adjust the pH of the soil, helping to maintain a certain level of acidity in the potting soil and preventing acid-loving flowers from growing poorly in alkaline soil, which causes leaves to turn yellow.

Potted jasmine is prone to yellow leaves and dropping buds. You can use one spoonful of vinegar diluted in water to spray it, mixing at a ratio of 1:500. This can ensure the soil's acidity, making potted jasmine grow better, with glossy green leaves and nonstop blooms.
